Chapel and facilities
The chapel has an organ for live music and a Wesley music system that can also play recorded music or show photographs and video tributes during a service. It’s fitted with a hearing loop, and the crematorium building – including the chapel, waiting room and porte-cochere – is step-free and wheelchair accessible, with an accessible toilet and refreshment facilities available to families as part of the service.

Parking and opening hours
There are 120 parking spaces at East Herringthorpe, close to the chapel.
The grounds are open year-round: 09:00–20:00 from April to September, and 09:00–17:00 from October to March. The crematorium office and memorial office are open Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00 (the memorial office by appointment). The Book of Remembrance room is open daily, including weekends and bank holidays, 09:00–16:00.

About this crematorium
East Herringthorpe Crematorium opened in 1962. Dignity Funerals Ltd has managed Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council’s cemeteries and crematorium under contract since August 2008, so while the council owns the site, day-to-day running – bookings, fees, the crematorium office – is handled by Dignity.
