Correction policy

Accurate information matters on this site more than most. If something is wrong, we want to know and we will fix it promptly.

How to report an error

Use our contact form with the subject line "Correction: [page name]" – for example, "Correction: Barclays bereavement guide". Include the specific claim you believe is incorrect and, if possible, a link to the source that contradicts it.

What happens next

We will review the reported error against the primary source (the company's own bereavement page, the relevant GOV.UK guidance, or the published fee schedule). If the error is confirmed, we will correct the page, update its "last modified" date, and add a correction note if the change is material. We aim to review all reported errors within 5 working days.

Material errors vs minor updates

A material error is one that could mislead someone taking action – an incorrect phone number, a wrong benefit rate, an outdated process step, or a claim that contradicts official guidance. Material errors are corrected immediately and noted on the page.

A minor update is a change in phrasing, a new link, or a process change that doesn't affect the substance of the advice. These are corrected without a formal correction note.
