Thornhill crematorium, Cardiff: fees, parking and chapel details
Thornhill crematorium, also known as Cardiff crematorium, is run by City of Cardiff Council as part of Cardiff Bereavement Services. Direct cremation, with no service and no attendance, costs £450 – roughly half the price of a standard attended cremation.

The two chapels
Thornhill has two chapels of rest, both fully accessible and equipped for webcasting:
- Briwnant Chapel (opened 2000) seats up to 40 people, with limited standing room.
- Wenallt Chapel seats up to 160 people, and offers visual tributes on two screens, DVD/CD recording, a digital music system, and space for small musical groups.
Both chapels have level access, an induction loop system, a wheelchair available on request, disabled parking, and accessible toilets. Parking and opening hours
On-site car parking and vehicle access are provided, along with accessible public toilets. The site is open weekdays 9am to 5:45pm, and weekends and bank holidays 10am to 5:45pm. Highway improvements are currently under way on Thornhill Road near the cemetery entrance, with temporary traffic lights in place – allow extra time when travelling to a service.
