Morrisons serves around 10 million customers across the UK. The person who has died may have had a Morrisons.com online grocery account, a Morrisons More loyalty card with accumulated points, a Delivery Pass subscription, gift cards, or an account linked to rapid delivery services such as Deliveroo, Amazon, or Uber Eats. Morrisons does not have a dedicated bereavement helpline – all of these are handled through their general customer services team.
This guide explains what to do, in what order, and what to expect at each stage.
Quick reference:
- Morrisons customer services: 0345 611 6111 (Monday–Sunday, 8am–11pm)
- Post: Customer Service Department, Wm Morrison Supermarkets Limited, Hilmore House, Gain Lane, Bradford, BD3 7DL
- Delivery Pass cancellation: 0345 611 6111, Option 1
- No dedicated online bereavement form – telephone is the primary route
- Morrisons does not currently offer financial products (savings, insurance, or credit cards)
How to notify Morrisons
Morrisons does not publish a separate bereavement line or a dedicated deceased-customer web page. The route in is through general customer services.
Call 0345 611 6111, Monday to Sunday, 8am–11pm. This number covers the online grocery account, the Morrisons More loyalty scheme, and Delivery Pass subscriptions.
When you call, the customer services team will ask for:
- The deceased’s full name and date of birth
- Their date of death
- Their usual home address
- The email address registered to their Morrisons account (if you know it)
- Your own name, contact details, and your relationship to the deceased
If you do not know the account email address, the team can often search by name and address.
If you prefer to write rather than call, send a letter with a certified copy of the death certificate and the deceased’s account details to:
Customer Service Department, Wm Morrison Supermarkets Limited, Hilmore House, Gain Lane, Bradford, BD3 7DL
There is no online form for this process. A phone call is the most direct route.
What documents you’ll need
| Document | Notes |
|---|---|
| Death certificate | Original or certified copy. An interim coroner’s certificate is also accepted in most cases. |
| Deceased’s account email address | Not always essential – the team can search by name and address, but it speeds the process up. |
| Morrisons More card number | Found on the physical card or in the Morrisons app. Useful if you want to ask about the points balance. |
Certified copies of a death certificate cost £11 each in England and Wales (source: gov.uk – order a death certificate). If you are simultaneously notifying other organisations, order several copies at the outset rather than one at a time.
There is no probate requirement for a standard Morrisons retail account or loyalty account. Morrisons does not hold financial deposits.
What happens to the online grocery account
When you notify Morrisons, the online grocery account is closed and online access is removed. Alongside that, the team will:
- Cancel any scheduled grocery deliveries that have not yet taken place
- Stop any automatic payments or repeat orders
- Close or cancel the Delivery Pass subscription
Scheduled deliveries and pending orders are worth addressing promptly. If a grocery delivery is booked and payment has already been taken, ask the customer services team to cancel it and arrange a refund to the estate. Morrisons takes recurring delivery charges until you contact them, so call as soon as you are able.
The Delivery Pass is a paid subscription – monthly or annual – for unlimited grocery deliveries. To cancel it specifically, call 0345 611 6111 and select Option 1. If payment has been taken after the date of death, ask about a refund for the unused portion. Morrisons’ Delivery Pass terms state that cancellation is subject to their discretion once the pass has been used, or after 14 days if unused (source: Delivery Pass Terms and Conditions – Morrisons). For a bereavement, the team is generally willing to process a cancellation and pro-rata refund – it is worth raising it directly.
Stored payment cards are held in the Morrisons.com account. These are removed when the account is closed, so there is no separate step needed for them.
For a broader overview of how direct debits and subscriptions are handled after a death, see our guide to what happens to direct debits when someone dies.
Morrisons More loyalty card
The Morrisons More card is a free loyalty scheme. Members earn More Points on shopping at Morrisons stores, online, and at Morrisons Daily convenience stores. Points convert into “Fivers” – £5 vouchers – which can be redeemed in store or online.
What happens to the points
Morrisons’ terms state that More Card accounts, points, and vouchers are personal to the member and not transferable. Unlike Tesco’s Clubcard, where a family member can request a transfer of points on death, Morrisons’ published terms do not provide for this. When the account is closed following a death notification, any accumulated points and unconverted Fivers will be forfeited.
Before you contact Morrisons, it is worth checking whether there are any Fivers available for immediate redemption. Fivers already issued can be used in store without needing to log in – they appear as a barcode or voucher reference and can sometimes be used independently of account access.
Points expiry rules (for context)
- More Points expire 12 months after they were earned if they have not been converted to Fivers.
- Fivers expire 12 months after they were issued.
- An account that has had no shopping activity for 52 consecutive weeks has all its points removed automatically.

How to find the card number
The 16-digit More Card number is printed on the physical card. It also appears in the Morrisons More app under the account section, and in any Morrisons promotional emails sent to the account. If you cannot find it, the customer services team can look up the account by name and address.
Morrisons gift cards
Morrisons gift cards can be used at any Morrisons store in the UK. They are available as physical cards and as eGift cards.
Gift card balances are part of the estate. A physical Morrisons gift card is a bearer instrument – whoever holds it can use it at the till. If you find unused Morrisons gift cards among the deceased’s possessions, they can simply be used when settling the estate’s affairs or passed to a family member.
However, Morrisons gift cards cannot be redeemed for cash and cannot be formally transferred through a customer services process. If you want to check the remaining balance, call the number on the back of the card (the gift card support line is separate from general customer services; the number varies by card type – check the reverse of the card or the eGift email).
Gift cards can hold value until spent – they do not carry a standard expiry date, though the terms reserve the right to expire inactive balances (source: Morrisons Gift Card FAQs).
Rapid delivery services: Deliveroo, Amazon, and Uber Eats
Morrisons operates through multiple rapid delivery partners. As of January 2026, Morrisons’ Deliveroo partnership extends to more than 500 Morrisons Daily convenience stores, with deliveries typically arriving within 30 minutes. Amazon and Uber Eats also carry Morrisons grocery items.
Orders placed through these platforms are processed through the respective platform’s account – Deliveroo, Amazon, or Uber Eats – rather than through a Morrisons account. If the deceased had active subscriptions or accounts on those platforms, they need to be closed through those services separately.
For Deliveroo specifically, the account can be closed by contacting Deliveroo support at deliveroo.co.uk/help, or by navigating to account settings and selecting the option to close the account. If you need more detail, see our guide on how to notify Deliveroo when someone dies.
There is no standing subscription for Morrisons deliveries via these third-party platforms – each order is a one-off transaction.
Morrisons financial services
Morrisons does not currently offer savings accounts, insurance products, or credit cards to retail customers. Historically, Morrisons partnered with Cardif Pinnacle (part of BNP Paribas) to offer insurance products, but this arrangement ended before 2025. Cardif Pinnacle divested its non-pet insurance business in December 2024, and Morrisons-branded financial products are no longer available.
If the person who has died held an older insurance or savings product that was Morrisons-branded, the policy documents will name the underlying provider. Check these documents carefully – you will need to contact that provider directly.
There is no Morrisons-linked bank account or credit card product that requires notification to Morrisons itself.
How long it takes
Morrisons does not publish a formal processing timeline for bereavement notifications. Based on the general account closure process and the nature of the request, you should expect the following:
| Step | Typical timeframe |
|---|---|
| Account access frozen | Same day or next working day after initial call |
| Scheduled deliveries cancelled and refunds initiated | 3–5 working days |
| Full account closure confirmed | 1–2 weeks once all details are provided |
| Delivery Pass refund (if applicable) | Up to 2 weeks, subject to Morrisons’ discretion |
If you have not received confirmation within two weeks of making contact, call 0345 611 6111 to follow up.
Tips and things to watch out for
Cancel the Delivery Pass as soon as possible. If the deceased held a monthly Delivery Pass, direct debits will continue until you call. Check bank statements from the date of death and, if a payment has been taken after that date, raise a refund request when you speak to the team on 0345 611 6111 (Option 1).
Check the More Card balance before you call. Points and Fivers are forfeited when the account closes, so it is worth knowing what is there. Open the Morrisons More app or check the website before you call. If Fivers have already been issued, they may be usable in store before the account is formally closed.
Note the Fivers barcode separately. Morrisons Fivers appear as individual barcodes. If you have access to the deceased’s phone or email, note down any Fiver barcodes – they may be usable in-store even after the account is flagged for closure, as they are bearer instruments once generated.
Gift cards work without an account. You do not need Morrisons account access to use a gift card in store. Any physical or digital gift cards found among the deceased’s possessions can be used at the till in the normal way.
Rapid delivery orders are third-party. If the deceased regularly ordered via Deliveroo or Amazon, those are separate accounts that need separate notifications. A call to Morrisons does not close or pause any Deliveroo or Amazon account.
Morrisons has no financial products to notify. Unlike Tesco or Sainsbury’s, Morrisons does not currently operate savings, insurance, or credit card products. The notification here is simpler – it covers retail and loyalty only. If you find old insurance documents branded with Morrisons, track down the underlying insurer from the policy schedule.
