About this crematorium
Rainsbrook Crematorium is operated on behalf of Rugby Borough Council and Daventry District Council by their joint committee. Construction began in May 2012 and the crematorium opened for services in April 2014, on the edge of Rainsbrook Valley, with views across Diamond Wood.
There are two ceremony rooms. The larger Avon Room seats up to 143 mourners, with additional standing room, and has a picture window overlooking Rainsbrook Valley. The smaller Drayton Room seats up to 53 and overlooks a flower courtyard. Both rooms are designed for multi-denominational use, with removable religious symbols, wall-mounted screens for visual tributes, a classical organ (an organist can be provided free of charge with advance notice), and the Obitus digital music system for song requests.
Services run at 60-minute intervals, with 45 minutes allocated per booking. A funeral service typically takes around 30 minutes, and a committal-only service around 15 minutes. The Avon Room runs services from 9am to 4pm, and the Drayton Room from 9.30am to 3.30pm.
A webcast service is available for services held in the Avon Room, streamed via the Obitus website to family and friends anywhere in the world. Access is by username and password issued to the funeral applicant, and the recording remains viewable online for up to 28 days after the service.
