Fees verified 10 August 2026, effective 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027. Source: Lambeth Crematorium fee schedule. Corrected the previously published “£490 reduced/off-peak” line, which does not appear on the current schedule – the true early morning rate is £519. Also corrected the child cremation entry: Lambeth’s own schedule prices child cremations directly (£471 for ages 6-16, £80 for under 5) rather than showing a blanket “no charge.”

About this crematorium

Lambeth Crematorium is run by Lambeth Council’s own bereavement services team – it is not a private operator, and is a separate facility from West Norwood Crematorium, which the council also runs. It opened in 1958 within the grounds of the adjacent Lambeth Cemetery on Blackshaw Road, Tooting, and sits within 10 acres of gardens planted with roses, lavender, heather and mature trees. If you’re looking for burial or grave-purchase fees rather than cremation fees, see our Lambeth cemetery fees page – the two sites share the same address and the same council bereavement services team.

The crematorium is well served by public transport: bus routes 155, 264, 280 and 493 stop nearby, Tooting Broadway underground station is a short walk away, and Haydons Road rail station is also close by.

The chapel

The chapel has a modern round design with natural light and can seat around 70 people, with room for more to stand. Each booking runs to a 45-minute time slot, with the ceremony itself typically lasting 30 minutes – leaving time either side for arrival and departure. Longer services can be arranged on request. The chapel accommodates services of all faiths and non-religious ceremonies, and families can choose whether the coffin remains visible throughout or is withdrawn behind curtains at the end of the service.

Streaming and recording

The crematorium offers the Obitus online music system, CD and MP3 playback, live webcast streaming for family and friends who cannot attend in person, and recorded copies of the service on DVD or USB.

Visiting the gardens

The grounds are open to visitors year-round: 8am–4pm on weekdays and 10am–4pm at weekends between November and March, extending to 8am–6pm on weekdays and 10am–6pm at weekends from April to October.

Getting in touch

The crematorium office is open Monday to Friday, 9am–2pm, on 020 7926 4221, or by email at bereavementservices@lambeth.gov.uk. An online enquiry form is also available via the council’s bereavement services pages.
