Canterbury burial costs

Canterbury City Council operates cemeteries across the district. All fees include VAT where applicable. Most families buying a standard adult grave pay the same rate regardless of where they live – the resident/non-resident split only bites on the smaller 4’6” x 4’ grave option.

The 4’6” x 4’ grave spaces have a resident/non-resident distinction; the larger 9’ x 4’ graves are charged at the same rate for all purchasers.
