Chapels and booking
There are two chapels: St Edmund’s, seating 95 with standing room for 30-40 more, and the smaller Abbey Chapel, seating 60 with standing room for 20-30 more. Each has its own dedicated car park with accessible bays near the entrance, and step-free access throughout the chapels, waiting rooms and gardens. Services are scheduled between 10am and 3pm. Every interment or service needs prior telephone booking, confirmed in writing on the prescribed form at least 48 hours before the appointed time – worth building into your planning if you’re arranging things quickly. An organist attends every funeral, and the crematorium also has a modern digital music system for custom playlists, plus webcasting and audio/video recording options.
