Chapel, booking, and running late
Services are bookable every 30 minutes from 9am to 3:30pm. If you need longer than the standard slot, you can book two consecutive slots in advance, with the second at a reduced fee. According to the council’s published fee schedule, running over your booked slot or arriving more than an hour late both carry an additional charge on top of the cremation fee – worth flagging to your funeral director if the cortège timing is tight. The Main Chapel seats around 130, with standing room for roughly 70 more. It’s fully wheelchair accessible, with a hearing loop and Braille hymn books, plus a waiting room and vestry on site. An organist is included in the standard fee and also operates the sound system. Parking is free, with accessible bays close to the chapel entrance.
