The chapel and overflow space
The chapel is light-filled and fitted with a sound system, a digital music library and video tribute facilities, so families can personalise the service with photos, film or music. Where more people attend than the chapel can seat, there’s a comfortable waiting room where the service is shown on screen, and external speakers so larger groups can stand outside and listen. A wheelchair is available on request.
Streaming and recording
Families can ask for the service to be webcast or recorded for anyone who can’t attend in person – useful for relatives overseas or too unwell to travel. Ask your funeral director to arrange this in advance.
Parking, access and opening hours
There’s a large on-site car park with over 200 spaces, including a designated disabled parking area. The site has accessible toilets, baby changing facilities and a hearing loop.
The office is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. The grounds are open Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, and 10am to 4pm on weekends and bank holidays.

About this crematorium
Seven Hills Crematorium is operated by a private operator. It opened in November 2010 and serves Ipswich, Felixstowe and the surrounding Suffolk coast. The site takes its name from a cluster of ancient Bronze Age burial mounds nearby, and the grounds themselves were once an arboretum of oak, redwood and sweet chestnut, replanted with sweet chestnut woodland after the 1987 storm damaged much of the original planting.
