Chapel and facilities
The chapel seats approximately 120 people, with additional standing room for larger funerals. An onsite waiting room with tea, coffee and toilet facilities is available before services, and both the chapel and waiting room are accessible for mobility-impaired visitors, with separate disabled toilets and dedicated disabled parking.
There is free on-site parking for 60 cars. Families travelling by public transport can use the bus stop on Seafield Place, a two-minute walk through Seafield Cemetery to the crematorium.
Services run on the hour from 9am to 4pm and are timed to last no more than 40 minutes, allowing a clear changeover between funerals. The chapel has a digital music system covering a wide range of traditional and modern music; less common pieces can usually be sourced with two working days’ notice, and an organist can be arranged on request.
Webcast and recordings
A live webcast can be arranged for family and friends who cannot attend in person, with 28-day on-demand playback restricted to authorised viewers. DVD or USB copies of the service are also available for a fee.

Seafield is operated by Edinburgh Crematorium Ltd. It was established in 1938 by the directors of the Leith Cemetery and Crematorium Company, and the first cremation took place on 3 May 1939.
