Overdale Crematorium in Bolton is run directly by Bolton Council. A direct (unattended) cremation costs £362 – the lowest-cost option – while a standard weekday attended cremation costs £1,112. Booking one of the two early slots (9.00am or 9.15am) brings the attended fee down to £906. All figures below are verified against the council’s own published price list.

Chapels
Overdale has two chapels: the West Chapel, which seats around 70, and the smaller East Chapel, which seats around 50. The council restored normal seated capacity in both chapels from 19 July 2021, after the pandemic-era social distancing limits were lifted.

The Books of Remembrance can also be viewed online at any time, though new inscriptions don’t appear on the online version until 12 months after the application is made.
