About this crematorium

Canford Crematorium is operated by Bristol City Council and opened in 1957, serving the north and west Bristol area from a site on Canford Lane in Westbury-on-Trym.

The chapel has pew seating for up to 100 people. Services run in 45-minute slots, with speaker systems both inside and outside the chapel, CD playback facilities, and an induction loop system for hearing aid users. Large-print hymn books and wheelchairs are available on request, and the crematorium offers webcasting so that mourners unable to attend in person can watch remotely.

There’s no dedicated car park at the crematorium itself, but parking spaces are available opposite the site on Canford Lane, including Blue Badge spaces. Buses 10, 11 and 13 all stop within 150m of the crematorium.

The crematorium office is no longer open to the public for general enquiries; the waiting room is reserved for visitors with access needs. For booking or service queries, contact Bristol City Council’s bereavement services team on 0117 903 8280 or email cems.crems@bristol.gov.uk.
