Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council cemetery fees
Current burial and cemetery fees for Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council at Tonbridge Cemetery, Pembury Road. Fees are effective from 1 April 2026 (2026/27 financial year). The Exclusive Right of Burial (ERB) and the interment (burial service) are charged as separate items. A full burial at Tonbridge Cemetery normally requires both fees.
Non-residents pay double all fees. A resident is a person who was resident within the borough at the time of their death.

The ERB grants the exclusive right to request the opening of the grave during the 60-year term.

A full first burial typically costs both the ERB fee and the interment fee together. For subsequent burials in an existing grave, only the interment fee applies. Interments normally take place 9am–3pm Monday to Thursday and 9am–1pm Friday; a fee of £50 per hour may apply outside these hours, and late arrivals may incur additional cost.

For the repurchase of burial rights on unused graves, the council pays the current purchase price multiplied by the remaining duration of the exclusive right, less the council’s administration fee at the time.
