Tewkesbury Borough Council cemetery fees
Current burial and cemetery fees for Tewkesbury Borough Council, effective 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027. The council manages two cemeteries: Tewkesbury Cemetery and Bishop’s Cleeve Cemetery. Non-residents pay double all standard fees.
A non-resident is anyone who does not live within the Tewkesbury Borough at the time of death, and non-resident fees are double the resident rate throughout this page. Two exceptions keep the resident rate available: where a grave or memorial kerb space was previously purchased by a Tewkesbury Borough resident for themselves or their next of kin, and where the deceased had to move into a care home outside the borough due to ill health.
Grave purchase (exclusive right of burial)
The Exclusive Right of Burial to a 270cm × 120cm grave plot is granted for a period not exceeding 100 years and costs £1,920 for residents, £3,840 for non-residents. This is a separate charge from the interment fee below, and the council’s published schedule does not set a separate ERB rate for children’s or ashes plots – see the interment and cremated remains sections for those charges.
