Stafford Borough Council cemetery fees
Current burial and cemetery fees for Stafford Borough Council, effective 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027. The council operates three cemeteries: Tixall Road (Stafford), Eccleshall Road (Stafford), and Stone Cemetery. Non-residents pay two and a half times the standard fee – the highest non-resident multiplier of any council in England covered by this guide.

Grave maintenance (annual)
Stafford Borough Council offers an optional grave maintenance service, run in partnership with Hearts and Flowers, aimed at people who are infirm or live some distance from the cemetery.

About Stafford Borough Council cemeteries
Stafford Borough Council manages three cemeteries in the Stafford area: Tixall Road and Eccleshall Road in Stafford town, and Stone Cemetery serving the town of Stone. The council is one of a small number of burial authorities in England that applies a 2.5x non-resident multiplier rather than the more common 2x – so families from outside the borough pay significantly more than local residents.
An exception applies for elderly people who die outside the borough within two years of leaving: single (resident) fees apply in those cases.
