About South Staffordshire District Council cemeteries

South Staffordshire District Council manages two cemeteries in the district: Sytch Lane Cemetery in Wombourne and Strawberry Lane Cemetery in Great Wyrley. The non-resident surcharge of 10% applies only to exclusive right of burial fees – interment fees are charged at the same rate for all. This makes South Staffordshire one of the few burial authorities in England to use a flat percentage surcharge rather than a fixed multiplier.
