South Holland District Council cemetery fees

Current burial and cemetery fees for South Holland District Council at Spalding Cemetery, effective 1 April 2026. South Holland District Council manages Spalding Cemetery, the principal burial ground for the Spalding area of south Lincolnshire.

Fees are split between parishioner and non-parishioner rates. A “parishioner” is a person who was resident within the Spalding Special Rate area at the time of their death – or who had a grave or rights already purchased at the cemetery before 1 April 2024. Non-parishioner interment costs are substantially higher than parishioner rates.

About Spalding Cemetery

Spalding Cemetery is the sole burial ground managed by South Holland District Council. It is located in Spalding, the principal town of South Holland district, in the south of Lincolnshire. The cemetery is approaching capacity – the council has considered options for a future cemetery extension in recent years.

South Holland is a largely rural district covering the Lincolnshire Fens, with a substantial local agricultural community. The Special Rate area used to define parishioner status broadly aligns with the town of Spalding itself.
