Kingswood, Mayshill, Filton and Mangotsfield cemetery fees

Current burial and cemetery fees for South Gloucestershire Council, effective 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027. The council operates four cemeteries: Kingswood Remembrance Park, Mayshill Cemetery, Filton Cemetery, and Mangotsfield Cemetery. Mangotsfield Cemetery is now full for new adult graves – only children’s graves and existing cremation sections/columbarium niches remain available there.

South Gloucestershire has an unusual fee structure: the interment fee is the same for in-district and out-of-district residents – only the ERB purchase price differs. The ERB term is 60 years.

Infants (stillborn and children up to 1 year) are buried at no charge, with the Ministry of Justice Child Burial Fund covering costs. Children aged 1 to 5 years are also buried at no charge.

Grave purchase (exclusive right of burial)

The Exclusive Right of Burial is granted for 60 years.

About South Gloucestershire Council’s cemeteries

South Gloucestershire Council operates four cemeteries serving the district to the north and east of Bristol:

Kingswood Remembrance Park serves Kingswood and the surrounding area. Pre-purchase ERBs are available here, allowing families to secure a plot in advance.

Mayshill Cemetery is a newer site offering a range of burial options including cremated remains interment. Pre-purchase ERBs are also available. It serves communities in the Frampton Cotterell and Yate areas.

Filton Cemetery serves Filton and the northern suburbs bordering Bristol. Cremated remains interment is available here.

Mangotsfield Cemetery, the oldest of the four (created in 1880), serves the Mangotsfield and Emersons Green area. It is now full for new adult graves – only children’s graves remain available, alongside existing cremation sections and a columbarium for cremated remains niches. It includes a chapel available for hire.

South Gloucestershire is a unitary authority covering a large area to the north and east of Bristol, including towns such as Thornbury, Yate, Chipping Sodbury, and Kingswood. The district has a population of around 290,000.
