South Derbyshire applies a significant non-resident surcharge: all Grant of Right and burial fees are treble for non-residents – three times the resident rate. This is notably higher than most English councils, which typically charge double. The 50-year grant is extendable for an additional 25 years.

All grants are issued for a 50-year term, extendable for a further 25 years on application.
