Sandwell cemetery fees – non-residents pay £437 more for burial, 30% surcharge on top

Sandwell Council cemetery fees

Current burial and cemetery fees for Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, effective 1 January 2026. Non-Sandwell residents pay a 30% surcharge on the burial fee and ERB. Out-of-hours burials (weekends, bank holidays, and after 3:15pm Oct–Mar or 4pm Apr–Sep Mon–Fri) also carry a 30% surcharge on the burial and chapel fees. Children under 18 are buried at no charge via the Children’s Funeral Fund. The burial fee includes the memorial permit for post-2013 graves.

Grave purchase (exclusive right of burial)

The ERB is a 99-year grant with an option to renew. No new pre-purchased graves are available.

Weekend/bank holiday rates are 30% higher than weekday rates: standard burial resident £1,895, non-resident £2,464.

Memorial permits

The memorial permit fee is included in the burial fee for graves purchased from 1 January 2013 onwards. For earlier graves:
