About Powys County Council cemeteries

Powys is a large rural unitary authority covering mid-Wales, including much of the Brecon Beacons and Powys Borderlands. The council manages 18 cemeteries spanning communities from Machynlleth in the north to Hay-on-Wye in the south. Non-residents – people who did not live in Powys – pay double the resident rate for all cemetery fees, one of the highest non-resident multipliers applied by any burial authority in Wales.
