North Yorkshire Council cemetery fees

Current burial and cemetery fees for North Yorkshire Council, effective 1 April 2026. North Yorkshire Council is a unitary authority created in April 2023 from the merger of seven district councils. It manages cemeteries across a large rural county, with clusters in the Harrogate, Scarborough, Richmondshire and Craven (Dales) areas. The exclusive right of burial is standardised at 50 years across all cemeteries. No separate resident/non-resident rate applies.

North Yorkshire uses two fee tiers based on location. Interment fees are the same across both tiers.

North Yorkshire Council operates cemeteries and crematoria across England’s largest county by area. Key sites include Stonefall Cemetery and Crematorium in Harrogate, Skipton Crematorium in the Craven area, and cemeteries at Scarborough, Richmond, and rural villages across Ryedale and Hambleton. The council also operates a pet crematorium at Stonefall.

Children’s funerals are arranged at no cost to families under the Children’s Funeral Fund for England. The council has harmonised memorialisation policies across all former district council areas since the 2023 merger.
