North West Leicestershire District Council cemetery fees
Current burial and cemetery fees for North West Leicestershire District Council, effective 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027. The council manages three active burial cemeteries: Broom Leys Cemetery (LE67 4DL), Whitwick Cemetery (LE67 5DJ), and Hugglescote Cemetery (LE67 2GB). London Road Cemetery is closed to new burials but remains open for visiting.
Resident rates (“single fees”) apply to anyone who lived in the former Coalville Urban District Council area at the time of death. Non-residents pay double all fees.

Selection fee: A 50% surcharge applies if a specific plot location is chosen in advance rather than accepting the next available space in rotation.

Non-resident fees
Double fees apply to anyone who did not reside within the former Coalville Urban District Council area at the time of death. An exception covers people who lived in Ellistown and pre-purchased a grave in any of the three cemeteries before 2002 (when Ellistown became a parish) and who were resident in Ellistown at the time of death – these are charged at single interment rates.
People residing in care homes outside the area for fewer than 12 months prior to death may qualify for resident rates; the funeral director or applicant must provide evidence (for example, a council tax bill).
Children’s Funeral Fund
Fees for the funeral of a child up to and including the age of 17 will be claimed from the Children’s Funeral Fund (CFF). This includes the first memorial stone application fee. Claims must be submitted within 6 months of the funeral date.
