Current burial and cemetery fees for Hartlepool Borough Council, effective 1 April 2026. Hartlepool manages Stranton Cemetery and West View Cemetery.
Grave purchase (exclusive right of burial)
ERB is granted for a 100-year period on full-size plots.

A non-resident is defined as a person not registered as a permanent resident in Hartlepool either at, or within the preceding 12 months prior to, the date of death.

Most non-resident fees are exactly double the resident rate. The triple-depth interment is the exception – the non-resident rate is £4,828, which is higher than a straight doubling of the £1,750 resident rate.
Costs associated with children’s funerals are claimed by Hartlepool Borough Council under the Children’s Funeral Fund for England Regulations 2019 and are not levied to the customer where the parent(s) are Hartlepool residents.
