Fareham Borough Council cemetery fees
Current burial and cemetery fees for Fareham Borough Council, effective 1 April 2026 (2026/27). Fareham grants a 30-year lease (Exclusive Right of Burial) for new graves, which can be purchased separately from the interment charge.
Resident fees apply when the person to be interred lived in the Borough of Fareham before death. People in care or nursing homes outside the borough also qualify as residents if they previously lived in the borough. Non-residents pay double the published resident rate.
Fareham operates cemeteries at Roman Grove (Fareham), Wickham Road (Fareham), Crofton (Stubbington) and Posbrook (Stubbington).
These council fees cover burial and the cemetery itself – Fareham Borough Council does not operate a crematorium. If you’re looking for direct cremation costs, that fee is charged by a separate cremation provider, not the council; what the council charges is £284 to bury cremated ashes into a cremation plot within its cemeteries (see the ashes area table below).
