Exeter City Council cemetery fees

Current burial and cemetery fees for Exeter City Council for 2026/27, effective 1 April 2026. Exeter operates three cemeteries: Higher Cemetery, Exwick Cemetery, and Topsham Cemetery. There is no separate resident and non-resident pricing. Under-16s are buried at no charge.

Grave purchase (exclusive right of burial)

Exeter grants exclusive burial rights for a 30-year term, renewable in 10-year extensions.

Exeter’s Gardens of Remembrance offer dedicated ashes plots where the fee is all-inclusive – covering the 30-year ERB, the first interment, and the right to place a memorial.

These are the fees for the right to erect a memorial. They do not include the cost of making or erecting the memorial itself.
