Dumfries and Galloway cemetery fees – child burial is free, adults from £976

Dumfries and Galloway Council covers Scotland’s largest unitary authority area by land mass, from the Solway Firth coast to the Southern Uplands. Burial lairs are typically purchased at the time of interment, though advance purchase schemes exist in some cemeteries.

There is no charge at all for burying a child under 18 or a stillborn baby – no lair fee and no interment fee, and this applies whether or not the family lives in the council area.
