Watling Street, Stone and Swanscombe cemetery fees
Current burial and cemetery fees for Dartford Borough Council in Kent, effective 2025/26. Dartford Borough Council operates three cemeteries currently open for new grave purchases: Watling Street Cemetery (Watling Street, Dartford DA2 6AA), Stone Cemetery (St James Lane, Stone), and Swanscombe Cemetery (Swanscombe Street, Swanscombe). The council also owns East Hill Cemetery (The Brent, Dartford), a historic site that no longer sells new graves but still accepts interments in existing private graves. The same fee schedule applies across all sites. A new grave requires both the exclusive right of burial fee and the interment fee – the combined resident cost for a single-depth new grave is £1,611. All burial charges are trebled for non-borough residents.

About Dartford’s cemeteries
Dartford Borough Council manages four cemeteries in total. Three remain open for new grave purchases – Watling Street Cemetery (Watling Street, Dartford DA2 6AA), Stone Cemetery (St James Lane, Stone), and Swanscombe Cemetery (Swanscombe Street, Swanscombe) – and share the fee schedule above. East Hill Cemetery (The Brent, Dartford), the borough’s oldest burial ground, no longer sells new graves but continues to accept interments in existing private graves where capacity allows. All bookings and enquiries are handled through the Watling Street cemetery office.
