City of London Cemetery fees

Current burial and cemetery fees for City of London Cemetery & Crematorium, effective 1 April 2026 (2026/27 schedule). The cemetery is located in Manor Park, Newham and is managed by the City of London Corporation. City of London residents (Square Mile) are entitled to a refund of 50% of the fee, up to a maximum of £596.50 – see “Square Mile resident refund” below for how this works.

Square Mile resident refund

City of London residents (within the Square Mile) are entitled to a refund equal to 50% of the fee, up to a maximum of £596.50, for cremations and burials carried out at the cemetery and crematorium. This means the refund itself varies by service – for example, 50% of the £525 drop-off cremation fee is £262.50, while the full £596.50 cap only applies once 50% of the fee reaches or exceeds that amount. This refund is not automatic – check with the crematorium office about how to claim it when booking.

About City of London Cemetery

City of London Cemetery & Crematorium is one of London’s largest burial grounds, covering over 200 acres in Manor Park. It is a Grade II listed landscape and serves as a park as well as an active cemetery. The site offers woodland burial, heritage graves, lawn graves, and a range of cremation services. The Cemetery is managed by the City of London Corporation and is open to all – City of London residency is not required.

The cemetery was founded in 1854 and opened in 1856; the crematorium was added afterwards and its building was rebuilt in 1971.
