Charnwood Borough Council cemetery fees
Current burial and cemetery fees for Charnwood Borough Council, effective 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027. Charnwood operates Loughborough Cemetery on Leicester Road and Nanpantan Road Cemetery.
Charnwood uses a tiered pricing structure based on residential status: Loughborough residents pay the base rate, other Charnwood Borough residents pay double, and people from outside the borough pay treble.
Grave purchase (exclusive right of burial)
All ERB grants are for 100 years. Pre-purchase of plots is not permitted at Leicester Road Cemetery; it is permitted at Nanpantan Road Cemetery, next-in-line only.

Burial and interment fees
The interment fee covers the cost of digging the grave.

A £448 additional charge applies for a Muslim cage. Children under 16 in a standard grave are buried without charge to a Loughborough resident. Saturday burials incur double the interment fee. Exhumation of a confined body costs £6,285.
