Hoddesdon Cemetery fees: grave purchase is resident-only

Last updated 22 August 2026

Hoddesdon Cemetery fees

Hoddesdon Cemetery is run by Borough of Broxbourne Council, alongside the council’s other cemetery at Cheshunt. Only residents of the borough can buy a grave at Hoddesdon – non-residents wanting to purchase a grave must use Cheshunt Cemetery instead. The tables below cover both cemeteries, since the council publishes one combined fee schedule; the resident-only rule applies specifically to new grave purchases at Hoddesdon.

Where a non-resident purchase is possible (at Cheshunt, or for services such as interment into an existing grave), non-residents pay four times the resident rate. Former residents who moved out of the borough within the last 10 years may qualify for resident pricing on application. Current fees apply from 1 April 2026.

Exclusive right of burial – grave purchase

All ERB grants are for a 100-year term. These prices cover both cemeteries – remember, non-residents can only complete a purchase at Cheshunt, not Hoddesdon.
