Birmingham cemetery fees
Current burial and cemetery fees for Birmingham City Council, effective 1 April 2026. The same fee schedule applies at all 12 municipal cemeteries, including Witton Cemetery, Handsworth Cemetery, Lodge Hill Cemetery, Perry Barr Cemetery, Quinton Cemetery, Kings Norton Cemetery and Sutton New Hall Cemetery – so whichever site your family is using, the figures below apply. The Exclusive Right of Burial (ERB) is granted for either 75 or 99 years, and includes the right to place and maintain a memorial for the duration of the lease.
A non-resident surcharge applies to the ERB purchase price for anyone who was not living in Birmingham at the time of death. The interment fee (the cost of the actual burial) is the same for residents and non-residents. For how Birmingham’s woodland burial options compare with other UK councils, see our guide to woodland and natural burial costs.
