Ashfield District Council cemetery fees
Current burial and cemetery fees for Ashfield District Council, effective April 2026 to March 2027. Ashfield District Council manages cemeteries across the district, serving communities including Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Hucknall, and Sutton-in-Ashfield in Nottinghamshire. Under the council’s Cemetery Rules and Regulations, all burial fees and exclusive right of burial purchase fees are tripled – not doubled – where the person interred, or the person purchasing the grave, was not an Ashfield District resident. Anyone who lived in Ashfield and later moved into a care or nursing home outside the district is still charged at the single (resident) rate, and this protection continues for two years after moving out. Multiple fees do not apply to headstone or additional inscription charges.
Grave space purchase (exclusive right of burial)
Exclusive rights of burial in Ashfield’s cemeteries are granted for a period of 75 years. No grave spaces or cremated remains plots can be pre-purchased in advance of need – this has been the case since April 2007.
