Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council manages municipal cemeteries across the greater Belfast commuter belt, covering Antrim, Newtownabbey, Ballyclare, Randalstown, and surrounding communities. The fees below are effective from 1 April 2026.
The non-resident premium is substantial here: purchasing burial rights costs 4.6 times more for non-residents (£1,600 versus £350), and the fee to open a grave costs 3.4 times more (£1,200 versus £350). Proof of residency in the Borough within the preceding seven years is required to claim the resident rate.

Former residents who were required to relocate outside the Borough due to care-related circumstances beyond their control may also be eligible for the resident rate on confirmation from a care supplier.
